Lisa Rogak…has written the most absurd selection of books known to man.

Thanks for visiting my site. I’m an independent book author and magazine journalist who’s been in the business for 30 years. I’ve covered everything from sabbaticals to baby names to funeral food customs, though in the last few years I’ve focused on writing biographies.
Writing has provided me with a fascinating, adventurous life. I wake up each morning looking forward to discovering what new things I’ll learn that day, which is something I think everyone should strive for. After all this time, it never ceases to amaze me that I have been able to make my living by indulging my curiosity and asking total strangers really nosy questions…
I currently write about food, wine and travel for Ocean Home Magazine, Wine Enthusiast, and Celebrated Living. I also write a weekly column on Latin American travel for Fox News Latino.
I founded the blog BehindTheKnife.com to explore the complicated relationship that chefs have with their tools, and to tell a little bit about their lives when they step away from the stove.
In November 2008, I hit a personal milestone when my book Barack Obama In His Own Words hit the New York Times Bestsellers list.
And in January 2010, my biography Haunted Heart: The Life & Times of Stephen King, was nominated for an Edgar, from the Mystery Writers of America, in the Best Critical/Biographical category.
After spending a year as a vagabond, traveling around the world full-time, I decided to settle down in Berkeley, California, where the food scene is beyond stellar, the culture is mind-boggingly diverse, and proximity to two international airports means I can still satisfy my wanderlust.
